Game Recap:
The Dreadsox were actually able to field an entire team against Campbell’s Souperstars.
They kept the game relatively close, as they allowed Campbell’s to score a run in the
first inning, then the two teams tallied two runs each in the second. Lori “Tiger”
Johnson led off the inning with a double, then scored when Jay “J-Bang” Matsudaira
ripped a triple. J-Bang scored when “H.R. Puff’n” Steff Zabriskie grounded back
to the pitcher. Campbell’s increased their lead with 2 runs in the third, then Chris
“Bootch” Burch smacked a solo home run in the top of the fourth. The soup people
answered with 4 runs in the bottom of the fourth, and two more in the fifth. Each team tallied
3 runs in the 6th inning, and the Dreads found themselves down by nine going into the ninth.
J-Bang led off the inning with the first over-the-fence home run in Dreadsox history (all the
other homers have been inside-the-park). Two batters later, Jerry “Cheez-n-Macs”
Kraft also parked a ball on the other side of the fence. But the Dreads were unable to muster
any more offense, and fell by a final of 8-15.
