Game Recap:
 The Dreadsox began the Summer 1998 season with a loss to Western Highlights. The Dreadsox defense struggled in the first inning, giving Western Highlights 7 runs to work with. Four of the runs came after an error which would have ended the inning. The Dreadsox put a run on the board in the bottom of the first when Toby “T-Bone” Sabol led off the inning with a double, then “H.R. Puff’n” Steff Zabriskie drove him in with an RBI single. After the Dreadsox gave up 3 more runs in the top of the second, Chris “Bootch” Burch made up for his first inning error by smacking a solo home run. After a scoreless third inning, the Dreadsox scored two more runs on doubles by T-Bone and Eric “Shady” Shadle, and an RBI single by Lori “Tiger” Johnson. The Dreadsox managed a couple more runs, but it wasn’t enough to catch up to Western, as the game ended with a score of 14-6.
