Game Recap:
The Dreadsox lost a close slugfest 11-12 to the Stealies, as they dropped to
1-4 for the season. The Dreadsox scored 4 runs to start the game on base hits by
Philip Phlipper Hallstrom, Carol C-Roll Kajita, Lori
Tiger Johnson, Chris Bootch Burch, and John
Squatch Hawkins. Sandy Sander Hallstrom added an RBI
sacrifice fly. But the Stealies tied up the game with 4 runs of their own in
the bottom of the first. The Stealies pulled ahead when the Dreadsox were unable
to score in the top of the second, then allowed 2 runs in the bottom frame. The
Dreadsox pulled back within one in the fourth on a Phlipper solo
homerun, but the Stealies added two more runs to make the score 5-8 after three
innings. The Dreadsox tied it up momentarily, scoring 3 runs in the top of the
4th, only to have the Stealies tally another 2 runs during their turn at bat.
The teams held eachother scoreless in the fifth inning, then the Dreadsox got
a 3-run homerun from Curtis Knocker Nakamura in the top of the 6th
to put the Dreads up 11-10. The lead was only temporary, as two Stealies were
walked in the bottom of the 6th, then were driven home on a bases-loaded single
for a 11-12 lead. Down by 1 with runners on first and third in the top of the 7th,
the Dreadsox were unable to score the tying run.
Phlipper had a good game batting 3-for-3, scoring 3 runs and getting
an RBI on his homerun. Tiger also batted well, reaching base twice
and scoring twice. The Knocker and Bootch each went
2-for-3 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored.
