Game Recap:
The Dreadsox took the second game of the double header by a score of 17-12. It was a great way
for the Dreads to finish the season, as they came back from an early 1-4 deficit. The Dreads got
an early run when Eric Shady Shadle blasted a homer to start off the game, but the
wireless ones got 4 runs in the bottom frame. Both teams held eachother scoreless in the second
inning, then matched eachother 1 run to 1 in the third inning. The Dreadsox closed the gap to
4-5 in the 4th inning when Shady drove in Sandy Sander Hallstrom with a triple, then
scored when H.R. Puffn Steff Zabriskie gounded out to shortstop. After shutting
down the Wireless Towers in the bottom of the 4th, the Dread bats went back to work. The Dreads
were able to pile up 4 runs before recording their first out of the inning, using walks by Chris
Butch Burch and Deborah Howler Wolfe, a base hit by Sheri Shaggy
Smith, and RBI doubles by Philip Phlipper Hallstrom and Jay J-Bang
Matsudaira. They got 5 runs in the inning for a 9-5 lead. But the lead disappeared almost as
quickly, as Western Wireless got 4 runs with two outs in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game
at 9. Refusing to surrender, the Dreads used a 2-run homer by Curtis Knocker Nakamura
to help power them to 4 sixth inning runs. The Dreads defense did their job, holding the Tower
Shooters to 1 run in the 6th to maintain a 13-10 lead. The Dreadsox got 4 insurance runs in the
top of the 7th, then toppled the Tower Shotters comeback bid after two runs to hold on to
a 17-12 decision.
Defensive Play of the Game:
CF Jay J-Bang Matsudaira kept the Shooters from scoring in the bottom of the second
inning when he robbed the Tower Shooter named Kay (who is not as cheerful and friendly as the
Dreadsoxs Kay) of a base hit with a diving catch of her shallow line drive.
Offensive Play of the Game:
3B Curtis Knocker Nakamuras 6th inning homer (his first of the season) drove in
what proved to be the winning runs.
Laugh of the Game:
None recorded.
