  Fall 2005 Results Next Game


Game Recap:
 The Dreadsox started off their fall 2005 season with a loss to Legal Beagles, a.k.a. The Walking Wonderdogs. The Beagles’ strategy to swing the bat as little as possible paid off. Their men accounted for 6 of their 7 walks in the game (two of the walks were of the two-base variety on 4-0 counts, and the following women opted to walk instead of bat). Even when they had a 9-run lead and a runner on first in the bottom of the 5th inning, they used a 2-base walk to load the bases and put the winning run on 3rd. We’re not really bitter... we just think the game is a lot more fun when people swing the bat.

Defensive Play of the Game:
 Pitcher Philip “Phlipper” Hallstrom retired the side 1-2-3 in the 4th inning, getting a couple of Beagle batters to pop out.

Offensive Play of the Game:
 Matt “Hustler” Heaton went 2-for-2 with a double, a triple, and 2 RBI.

Laugh of the Game:
 We need to do a better job of keeping track of candidates for the laugh of the game. :(
