Game Recap:
The Dreadsox again dominated in the second game against S.D. Deacon. After retiring
Deacon 1-2-3, then getting 6 runs in the first, the dreads gave up 4 runs in the top
of the second. Not to worry, though. The Dreads got 16 runs in the bottom of the 2nd
inning, as every player in the lineup scored at least one run in the inning. The game
only lasted 3½ innings due to all the runs, and the Dreads came away with a 9-25
win.
Defensive Play of the Game:
While not necessarily a defensive play, or a defensive move for that matter, our
Defensive Play of the Game goes to Kurt The Lil Hurt Hayashida for
his pitching. Kurt made the game a bit more interesting defensively by pretending he
was a chef at an Italian buffet serving up meat balls to anyone who came to the plate.
Despite an over the fence home run, Deacon could still only muster up 9 runs on meat
night.
Offensive Play of the Game:
Six Dreadsox players batted a thousand for the game. Sara SFP Perry, Steph
Stun Gun Dunniway, Jay J-Bang Matsudaira, Deanna T1
Tregoning, Eric Shady Shadle, and Matt Hustler Heaton combined
for 19-for-19 hitting with 2 walks, 15 runs scored, 2 doubles, 1 triple, 2 homers, and
17 RBIs.
Laugh of the Game:
With a 22-9 lead in the bottom of the 3rd inning, most of the Dreadsox batters decided
to bat with their off hand. On-deck batter Matt Hustler Heaton was in the
warmup circle trying to figure out how to hold the bat left handed. Jay J-Bang
Matsudaira tried to mess him up by telling him to put his right hand on top, but Matt
figured out the correct grip. However, as he took a few practice swings he let out a
loud yelp when he hit himself on the elbow during his follow-through.
