Game Recap:
The Dreadsox raised their record to above .500 with a win versus S.D. Deacon. The
Dreads dominated the game, tallying 13 runs before Deacon got their first run.
Deacon was unable to advance a runner past 2nd base until the 4th inning, as
Deanna T1 Tregoning stepped in for regular pitcher Philip Phlipper
Hallstrom, who was home with a cold, and baffled the batters with an array of
strikes. With Deacons suspect fielding abilities and some hot Dread gloves
and bats, the Dreads cruised to a 19-6 victory.
Defensive Play of the Game:
After Deacons lead-off batter started the game with a base hit, LCF Eric
Shady Shadle charged hard when the next batter lifted a blooper
to shallow center field. Thinking the ball was going to fall for a base hit, the
runner took off from first. Shady made a nice diving catch, and got up in time to
throw to first to double up the runner trying to get back.
Offensive Play of the Game:
Returning from a bruised knee, Lydia F-Stop Jenson had a solid day at
the plate, going 4-for-4, knocking in a run, and scoring a run.
Laugh of the Game:
Kurt The Lil Hurt Hayashida got a triple in the 3rd inning, then
a home run in the 4th. As he walked to the plate for his next at-bat in the 5th,
Chris Mulberry Mullen began to speculate about Kurts chances of
hitting for the cycle. Instead of complying with the teams hopes, Kurt struck
out on a high, ugly pitch.
