Game Recap:
The Dreadsox played the first of their rainout make-up games on June 20, and came
away with a 15-13 win against WMC Mongers. The Dreads got off to a quick 6-2 lead
after 1 inning before the Mongers got 2 more runs in the bottom of the second to close
the gap to 6-4. The gap remained the same after 3 innings, as both teams tallied
5 runs in the inning 3 of the Dreads runs coming on a Matt Hustler
Heaton home run. The Dreadsox got 4 more runs in the top of the 4th inning, and hung
on for a 15-13 win.
Defensive Play of the Game:
Pitcher Philip Phlipper Hallstroms keen reflexes saved his face
from being overhauled by a hard-hit line drive, and earned him the defensive play
of the game.
Offensive Play of the Game:
The not-so-fleet-of-foot Marc Giddy-Up Nagel drove in what turned out to
be the Dreadsox winning runs with a 3 RBI inside the park home run in the top of the
4th inning.
Laugh of the Game:
Although neither player recorded an error, Curtis Knocker Nakamura and
Sara SFP Perry received numerous reminders from various helpful teammates
that showing up in time for warm-ups can do wonders for their fielding abilities.
