Game Recap:
The Dreadsox lost the second game of the double header against Western Wireless by a
score of 23-8. The Dreadsox held a momentary lead when Cindy “Helmet” Louie
singled in the first inning, then Jay “J-Bang” Matsudaira smacked a home run
for a 2-0 lead. Later in the inning, Eric “Shady” Shadle and Amy “Animal”
Auyang’s back-to-back doubles produced another run to make the score 3-0 after one-half
inning. The Dreadsox defense then held the Wireless crew to 4-runs, as SS Kurt “Lil’
Hurt” Hayashida assisted on all three outs of the inning. The Dreadsox were held scoreless
for the next two innings... so let’s just skip on ahead to the top of the fourth, shall we?
With 2 outs, the Dreadsox rallied for 5 runs. Shady again doubled, then scored on Lil’
Hurt’s double. Sandy “Sander” Hallstrom’s single scored Kurt. Then Curtis
“Knocker” Nakamura, after swinging so hard on a foul ball that he spun to the ground,
singled to advance Sandy to second. Animal’s single drove in Sandy, then Knocker scored
when Philip “Phlipper” Hallstom’s fly ball to center field was dropped. Animal
eventually scored the final Dreadsox run when “H.R. Puff’n” Steff Zabriskie and
Kevin “The Joker” Hayashida were walked.
Rover Cindy “Helmet” Louie added to her list of softball injuries when she took a
ball off her right index finger. The impact left a deep cut in her knuckle, which was iced and
bandaged. Upon last report, the bleeding and the throbbing have both stopped.
