Game Recap:
The Dreadsox completed the sweep of the Bulldogs with a 3½ inning, 2-14 victory.
The Dreadsox defense overcame its first inning jinx of past years, quickly disposing
of the Bulldogs 3-up 3-down in the top of the first. With 2 outs in the bottom of the
first, Dreadsox first baseman Marc Psycho Nagle singled to right-center.
Then Susan Smiley Lyons, who in the first game smacked a homerun over the
left fielders head because he was insulting her with how shallow he was playing,
drilled a shot over the left-center fielders reach for an RBI triple. Smiley then
scored when Curtis Knocker Nakamura knocked a shot into the right-center gap.
The Knocker rounded first, then raced into second with an interesting maneuver which
appearently was a slide, but looked more like a knee-pogostick/bellyflop combination.
He scored 6s across the board, with the exception of a 7.5 from the Bulgarian judge.
The Dreadsox scored what was to be the winning run on Kevin The Joker
Hayashidas solo homerun in the bottom of the second, giving the Dreads a 3-0 lead.
After allowing the Bulldogs to score a run in the top of the third, the Dreadsox took the
momentum from a Vince Pako Brooks lead-off triple, and exploded for 11 runs.
The Bulldogs scored another run in the fourth, but it was too little, too late. The
evenings light supply began to run short, and the umpire stopped the game after
3½ innings. Finally, the Bulldogs could whimper home with their tails between their
legs, lick their wounds, and wait out the long, cold winter for a chance to redeem themselves.
Kevin The Joker Hayashida, fueled by a personal mission to prove that the
spring season loss to the Bulldogs was a fluke, entered The Zone in the 2-game
series, batting 5-for-5 with 6 runs scored and 8 RBIs on 1 walk, 1 single, 1 double,
1 triple, and 2 homeruns. Angela Funky Porter (which is short for Funky
as an Athletic SupPorter) made her Dreadsox debut in grand fashion. She batted 3-for-5,
walked once, scored 3 runs, and talked some good smack.
