Game Recap:
The Dreadsox lost a close one in the second game against the Loaches. The Loaches
scored a run in the top of the first inning, but the Dreadsox came storming back
with 3 runs, feuled by a 2-run homerun by Curtis Knocker Nakamura. The
Loaches then regained the lead with 5 runs in the top of the second, but the Dreadsox
kept it close with a couple runs of their own in the bottom frame. The Loaches got
another run in the top of the third, extending their lead to 7-5. The Dreadsox tied
the game in the bottom of the third when H.R. Puffn Steff Zabriskie
drew a walk, then Eric Shady Shadle belted a fly ball to right field,
where Dreadsox double agent Donna Martin let the ball bounce off her mitt and roll
away for a homerun. The deadlock wouldnt last long, as the Loaches scored two
runs of their own in the top of the fourth. The Dreadsox kept it a one run game when
Vince Pako Brooks scored on Philip Phlipper Hallstroms
RBI triple. The Loaches were apparently on their way to putting the game out of reach
with a 3-run fifth inning and a 12-8 lead, but the Dreadsox wouldnt quit. After
Lori Tiger Johnson led off with a single, Kurt Lil Hurt
Hayashida moved her to third with no outs on a double. The Loaches then tallied two quick
outs, and the Dreadsox were backed against the wall. Susan Smiley Lyons
worked a full count, then drew a walk on a low pitch to load the bases for Jay J-Bang
Matsudaira. J-Bang spanked a line drive to right field, which got past the right fielder
for a grand slam homerun to tie the game. But the celebration would end there, as the
Loaches managed a 2-out rally for a score in the top of the sixth, and the Dreadsox were
unable to match the run in the bottom of the frame, as time ran out on the game.
Lori Tiger Johnson batted well, going 2-for-3 with a run scored. Eric
Shady Shadle was a triple away from hitting for the cycle, going 3-for-3
with a single, a double, a homerun and 3 RBIs. The Lil Hurt kept
his hot hitting going with a 2-for-3 perfomance with 2 doubles, an RBI, and a run scored.
