Game Recap:
The Dreadsox dropped the second game of the double header vs the Loaches by a score of 10-15. Things looked good for the Dreads to start the game, as they got base hits by “H.R. Puff’n” Steff Zabriskie, Philip “Phlipper” Hallstrom, and Cindy “Helmet” Louie, plus doubles by Kurt “Li’l Hurt” Hayashida, Jay “J-Bang” Matsudaira and Marc “Psycho” Nagle en route to a 6 run top of the first. Unfortunately for the Dreadsox, the Loaches also got six runs in the first. Loaches player/coach Rob (“No Nickname for the Opposition”) Falk hammered a triple, and the Doug loach and Katy loach each got doubles in the rally. The Dreads got 3 more runs in the top of the 2nd inning, courtesy of a triple by Curtis “Knocker” Nakamura. The Dreads then gave up 5 runs in the bottom of the 2nd to find themselves with a 8-11 deficit. The Dreads were unable to score a run in the top of the 3rd inning, as they stranded 2 runners for the second inning in a row. Then the Dreadsox let a couple of balls slip out of their mitts in the bottom of the 3rd, allowing 4 more Loaches to score. The Dreads could only muster 1 run in the top of the 4th inning, and the ump called the game early due to time.

Defensive Play of the Game:
Although the Dreads committed 3 costly errors, leading to 11 unearned runs, there were some nice defensive plays. 2B “Shaggy” Sheri Smith quickly moved to her right to field a tough ground ball in the first inning. Shaggy then turned and threw to first to get the 2nd out of the inning.

Offensive Play of the Game:
Curtis “Knocker” Nakamura hit a blistering shot down the right field line that went for a triple. The Loaches first baseman caught the relay throw on the outfield grass, and began to walk the ball into the infield, keeping an eye on the Knocker. Nakamura casually strolled down the third base line, then decided to test the Loach arm, taking off for home. The throw came in way high, allowing Curtis to score easily.

Laugh of the Game:
SS Chris “Bootch” Burch had a ground ball hit to him in the second inning that did a little funky dance on him. When Bootch finally got a grasp of the ball, he looked up to see 2B “Shaggy” Sheri Smith pointing and laughing at him, in classic Dreadsox fashion.
