Game Recap:
The Dreadsox got redemption from their 14-18 loss in the first game by conquering Conner Development by
a score of 8-18 in the second game. RF Philip Phlipper Hallstrom again got the Dreadsox
defense going early in the game, making a nice shoe-top grab on a soft blooper during Conner Developments
scoreless top of the first inning. Then the Dreadsox bats came into play, as Curtis Knocker
Nakamura, Stephanie Stun Gun Dunniway, David Senan aka Cody Brown, and Lori
Tiger Johnson started the inning with consecutive base hits en route to a 3-0 lead. The
Dreadsox lead evaporated quickly, as Conner constructed a string of hits of their own, resulting in
4 runs and a 4-3 lead. But the Dreads came right back in the bottom of the 2nd, tying the game on a
Jay J-Bang Matsudaira solo home run. Those pesky Developers pulled ahead again in the top
of the third inning, with 2 of their 3 runs coming from a shot over the left field fence. The Dreads
then used a timely 2-out rally for 4 runs in the bottom frame, and never looked back from there. Conner
conjured up 1 more run in the 4th, but was shut down from then on. Meanwhile, the Dreadsox played small
ball, as they clicked for nine singles in the bottom of the 4th, enabling them to pile in 8 runs for a
8-16 lead. After holding Conner runless in the top of the 5th, the Dreadsox put the finishing touches on
the game. Phlipper Hallstrom reached on a base hit, then scored when J-Bang Matsudaira belted a triple
to right-center field with 2 outs. The very next batter, H.R. Puffn Steff Zabriskie
dropped a line drive over the shortstop for a base hit, scoring J-Bang from third. With the score 8-18
in the bottom of the 5th inning, the 10-run mercy rule was called to end the game.
Defensive Play of the Game:
Third baseman Marc Psycho Nagle made an amazing diving catch on a rocket shot down the 3rd
base line. The madman didnt even lose his hat in the process!
Offensive Play of the Game:
With 2 outs and 2 on in the bottom of the 3rd inning, Chris Bootch Burch stepped up to the
plate, still muttering some profanities at himself for being the victim of the Infield Fly Rule with the
bases loaded back in the first inning. As pretty as the view from the hotel room at a French beach resort,
Bootch smacked a 2 RBI triple over the rightfielders dizzied head for his team leading 12th & 13th
RBIs.
Laugh of the Game:
First baseman David Senan, who plays under the alias of Cody Brown (which also happens to be
his dogs name), half-heartedly chased after a foul ball that landed in front of the Dreadsox dugout.
Not impressed by the lack of hussle, and wanting to see his firstbaseman dive and/or impale himself in the
fence, manager Jay J-Bang Matsudaira gruffly yelled, Awwww... Cmon, Cody Brown...
fetch, boy!!
