Game Recap:
The Dreadsox got into the win column in the third game of the fall 2005 season with
a 9-11 victory over Fockers. The Dreads got off to a quick 5-0 lead in the first,
thanks in part to doubles by Eric Shady Shadle, Philip Phlipper
Hallstrom, Jay J-Bang Matsudaira, and Renee Military Sexton.
After the Fockers scored 2 in the top of the 2nd, both teams were held in check until
the bottom of the 4th, when the Dreads scored 3 runs, gave up 3 in the top of the 5th,
then got them back again in the bottom of the 5th. The Dreads then held on as the
Fockers comeback attempt fell short.
Defensive Play of the Game:
Jay J-Bang Matsudaira set the tone for the game when the first batter of
the game blooped a fly ball to shallow left field. The dork charged in hard
from left center and made a diving catch.
Offensive Play of the Game:
Renee Military Sexton displayed some impressive power, as she drove
in 2 runs with a double in the first inning, and got an RBI with another double
in the 4th.
Laugh of the Game:
As the Dreads were taking the field in the bottom of the first inning, one of the
Focker players was overheard saying, Wow. This team is a lot more intense than
the team we played last week. Now THAT makes me laugh!
